Getting Married in a Wedding Venue in the North West?

by sarah • November 3, 2022 • Wedding Planning Guides

Choosing a venue for your special day is one of the first decisions that you’ll make when planning your wedding. Don’t let geographical location dictate where you celebrate – whether you’re from London or Manchester, Chester or Lancaster, your loved ones can easily travel to wherever you consider to be the perfect wedding venue.

Instead of location, focus on all the things you would like your big day to be, like amazing views and mesmerising surroundings.

For example, if you’re dreaming of a rustic barn wedding, there aren’t many wedding venues in Manchester itself that will be able to help. But don’t worry, your friends and family will happily travel less than hour to celebrate with you at somewhere like Heaton House Farm!

A wedding venue in Staffordshire, easy to reach from anywhere in the world

We’ve welcomed couples from as far away as Australia, who wanted a Manchester wedding venue where they could get married outdoors with views of the rural Cheshire countryside. And they had lots of guests to celebrate with them.
So don’t be worried about finding somewhere close to home. Your wedding day should be exactly how you’d like it to be; where that is, is entirely up to you.

If you’re looking for an incredible place to celebrate on a working farm – in a rustic barn, outdoors under an oak pagoda, or beneath the twinkling night sky, then Heaton House Farm could be your dream wedding venue in Macclesfield.

Although we technically come under the Staffordshire Registrars, we’re right on the border with Cheshire and Derbyshire, meaning we’re easy to reach from absolutely anywhere in the country.

That’s why we’ve put together these helpful directions and FAQs on locations. Take a look at how finding us is really simple, wherever you’re coming from.

Then you can start planning your perfect wedding day.

 Travelling from Manchester

By Car: If you’re looking for wedding venues near Manchester, it’s our closest big city, and it’s not far at all from us. Just head south from the city towards Cheadle, and you’ll be at our front door in less than an hour by car.

By Train: Macclesfield is on the direct train line from Manchester. You can reach us from Manchester Piccadilly in just 20 minutes on a Virgin train, and then we’re just a short taxi ride or bus ride away. Accommodation is available right opposite the station, making it a perfect option for many guests.

By Plane: Although our wedding venue is in Staffordshire, we help couples celebrate from all around the world because we’re just a short distance away from Manchester International Airport. Fly into there, and then you’ll be able to reach us within 45 minutes by car, or you can hop on a train if you prefer public transport.

Travelling from London and the South

By Car: If you want to leave the Capital and find an ideal wedding venue in the North West, then our Staffordshire location could be the perfect option for you and your guests. You won’t have to travel as far North as Manchester, Cheshire or Lancashire, and you’ll find us easily off the M6 motorway. Take the M40 up towards Birmingham, or if you’re on the East side, you can easily reach us via the M1. Both journeys only take around 3 hours.

By Train: As Macclesfield is on the direct line from London Euston to Manchester, you can get here in about 2 hours by train. Departures are every 20-30 minutes too, so you won’t have to worry about waiting ages if you miss one!

By Plane: Manchester Airport is only 45 minutes away from us, meaning we’re conveniently located to arrive by air. It takes less than an hour from London. Alternatively, we do have a helicopter landing pad, so if you’re looking for a Manchester wedding venue you can into fly directly, we could be for you!

Is your wedding venue near Lancashire or Cheshire?

If you want our official address, Heaton House Farm is a wedding venue in Staffordshire, but the Cheshire border is less than a minute down the road! Our views span across Cheshire and into Derbyshire too.

As for Lancashire, we’re less than hour away and really easy to get to.

By Car, you can just drive down the M6, or come via the M60 and Cheadle.

By Train, just head to Manchester Piccadilly or Stockport and change there to Macclesfield, and you can reach us in less than 2 hours from Lancaster, or just over an hour from Warrington.

And if you’re looking for Chester wedding venues, we’re just over an hour by car from the city centre, along the A51 and A54. Change in Stockport to reach Macclesfield station by train.

Venture further afield for a dream wedding in the hills.

We’re looking for a marquee wedding venue in the North West. Can you help?

We know it’s not easy to find grounds or farmland where you can erect a marquee for a wedding. We were one of the first private venues in the Cheshire and Staffordshire region to host a marquee wedding, and whilst we don’t use our land for marquees any more, we have an even better option.

Inside our Steeles Barn, we’ve erected a permanent marque, that’s protected from the elements in every season. It’s the perfect place for a wedding breakfast, and you won’t need to worry about setting it up or having it blown away.

I need a large wedding venue near Manchester, that has countryside views.

We’re extremely proud of the space we have at Heaton House Farm, and we’re able to host some of the largest weddings in the North West! We have many couples travelling to us from around Manchester, as we’re easily able to accommodate large wedding parties.

Whether you’re looking for an Asian wedding venue, a place for a Jewish celebration, or you just want somewhere to welcome hundreds of guests. We can easily host 400 guests, and have even thrown a wedding for over 600!

One of the best wedding venues in the North West

Although we’re certain that our beautiful rustic barns will capture your hearts, and that the countryside location offers beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings, there’s more to a wedding than just the venue itself.

Here at Heaton House Farm, we pride ourselves on our ability to add those extra-special touches that will turn your wedding day into one that you’ll remember forever. After all, it’s the little things that ensure that your wedding day is as individual as you are.

That attention to detail and those unique extras are just some of the reasons why couples come from London, Birmingham and Manchester to our wedding venue in the Staffordshire hills. And they’re just some of the reasons why we’ve won national awards (don’t just take our word for it!)
