On Saturday 7th December, nearly 200 guests arrived on a chilly winter’s night to enjoy the annual Heaton House Events Christmas Party.
The ladies looked fabulous in their ball gowns and the gents dapper in their suits and dickie bows as they arrived to a champagne reception in the beautiful oak beamed Entrance Barn.
Whilst enjoying some delightful canapés provided by Barretts Event catering, guests posed for our caricaturist, Mike Bryson and giggled at his comical drawings.
The festive spirit of the evening really got in to full swing once Steeles Barn was revealed decorated in all its glory – complete with our famous 18ft Christmas tree!
This year we decided to go for a traditional Christmas theme, including reds, greens and golds. We contacted a number of excellent florists in the area to see if they would like to help make our ball even more beautiful by designing some exquisite centrepieces to tie in with our traditional theme. Left to let their imaginations run wild, we were really excited to see what each florist would create…
We were delighted to welcome Frog Flowers. The came came over from Manchester and create innovative and contemporary designs. We were so impressed with their arrangement for the biggest table at the ball. A beautiful collection of rustic logs, pine cones, cream roses and candelabras ran down the centre of one of our tables creating an interesting and incredible display.
Congleton florist Belle Fleurs specialise in providing bespoke flowers for weddings. Their tall martini glass arrangements were the first to arrive in our office for the Christmas ball and the smell of roses, dried oranges and cinnamon sticks all crafted into a stunning display instantly put us in the Christmas spirit!
Green Earth Flowers is a Poynton based florist, who believe that a wedding day is as individual as you are. Their unique and perfectly formed display looked stunning on one of our smaller tables. The berries, deep reds, browns and greens formed a warm and christmassy centrepiece.
Laura Coleman Flowers is a very creative and unique florist based in Manchester. Laura was definitely the most excited about putting together a centrepiece for us, she went for two centrepieces and they were a Christmas tree surrounded by presents and she even created a game whereby the winner took the tree away with them! Who doesn’t love presents at Christmas?
Wild Orchid specialise in quality and innovative floral design. Teresa provided an eye-catching centrepiece made up of rich red roses, berries and gold accents, she even put together two mini Christmas trees made of smaller red flowers, baubles floating on glasses and red and gold baubles throughout.
Mary May’s Flowers is a professional and experienced florist based in Staffordshire. Emma put together a very traditional centrepiece complete with holly, red berries and red roses, a beautiful design perfect for the theme.
Natalie’s Florist is a Newcastle-Under-Lyme based florist, who class themselves as wedding experts, they are one of the newest suppliers to our recommended supplier list and so far we have been amazed with the quality and service. They provided us with two stunning displays, both of which had a real wow factor. A mixture of red roses, hydrangea and Christmas themed elements such as cinnamon sticks, baubles and pine cones, really made the table look extra special.
Precious Things is a Poynton based florist and event styling company who believe that every wedding day is unique and should have your personality at the heart of it. They certainly showed us their personalities when creating their striking design. A mixture of gold sparkly twigs, tea lights, berries and red roses were scattered around an impressive candelabra providing a statement in the centre of the table.
Another florist from Manchester included Verdure who fuse style and flair and hand craft quality flowers into beautiful floral designs, and wow! They did not disappoint! Verdure did three of the tables at the ball, each one unique and dazzling. A number of elements made up the three different displays and ensured that the guests on each table were wowed!
We would like to thank them all for adding that extra bit of sparkle to our event. Thanks also to Chelsea Shoesmith Photography, for taking the photographs of our wonderful centrepieces.
After all the guests had finished admiring the amazing centrepieces, they tucked into a scrumptious 3 course meal, again provided by Barretts Event Caterers.
After everyone was suitably wined and dined, our in house DJ Krissi B warmed up the dance floor ready for The Coolers, featuring Jennie Sawdon, to take to the stage. DJ Krissi B then ended the night with a packed dance floor and everyone singing along to the Christmas tunes!
What a night! Thank you to everyone who turned up and enjoyed the night, as well as all the suppliers involved in making 2013 the best ball yet.
With festive thanks to:
Merry Christmas everybody and a Happy New Year!
