Our venue marked an incredible 25 years of hosting weddings and we certainly celebrated in style…
For seven generations, Heaton House Farm has belonged to the Heath family; Mick, Margaret and their daughter Sarah. Passionate about giving back to the community, the family hosted annual charity concerts. After one of those somebody asked to host their wedding reception in their barn, and this is where the story of our diversification truly began.
From building permanent bars and constructing Steeles Barn as our now bespoke dining area to developing 15 guest accommodation rooms that we now have onsite. The last 25 years have been filled with improvements, renovations and so many incredible events watching hundreds of happy couples tie the knot, allowing the business to flourish into what it has become today!
Invitations were eagerly sent to all our wonderful past couples and their children, offering them a fantastic afternoon of entertainment to thank them for trusting our venue to host their special day, where they created incredible lifelong memories.
The whole event was in aid of the British Heart Foundation and Midlands Air Ambulance, not only close to the hearts of many of our fabulous team, but these were two of the original charities that we have been supporting since the very beginning of our journey.
Singers Olivia Robinson (our very own marketing coordinator here at the venue!) and Franchesqua Sings set spirits soaring with fabulous sets of live music to get everybody dancing.
But the favourite amongst the younger guests was the mind-blowing balloon modelling by Bollington Balloons who created some amazing characters!
There was entertainment, fun and laughter for everybody. Crazy 9 provided family favourite mini golf and table tennis games under the night stars, Eventech entertained with a bungy rope and inflatable twister game – which our competitive families loved! And there were quite a few laughs at the hilarious Donkey Darby stand by GB Fun Casinos.
Macclesfield Young Farmers Club offered a variety of family activities such as guessing the number of balloons in the tractor, the weight of the piglet and the very entertaining, welly-wanging! It was fantastic to have some of their farm animals join the celebrations – we are a farm after all!
Our onsite caterers Stableyard Catering provided a delicious selection of food and drinks for couples to enjoy sat out on the patio in the sunshine. On the menu for the day were gourmet burgers, that had been kindly sponsored by local company Dunwood Farm Butchery, (we highly recommend!) these were extremely popular and everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching them be cooked by our incredible chefs.
After a yummy burger, you could head to the dessert stand for some homemade hot cookie and ice cream or pop to the ice cream van for a Dalton Dairy ice cream!
A rustic photo backdrop provided by Willow & Fig and a photo booth from That Prop Guy helped guests and their loved ones snap pics for their galleries! Alongside the amazing SMH Photography captured all the precious memories, old and new, including shots of our wonderful couples in front of our iconic and striking sycamore tree (link to photo gallery at the bottom).
Venue Perfection provided a beautiful moon gate displaying polaroids of all our past couples at the event which took pride of place for everybody to reminisce on the journey, symbolising the incredible achievements over the last quarter of a century.
It was amazing to have Wincle Beer join us for this event, as they are a massive part of our heritage as they brewed their delicious ale here until 2013, before they moved to their new location in the village. Guests enjoyed sipping beer samples and admiring pictures of beer clips at their stand!
The Added Extra, one of our incredible recommended suppliers, provided a white audio photo booth for couples to record messages of their favourite wedding memories; we can’t wait to listen to them back and reminisce; maybe in many years to come too. They also provided arcade games and the wonderful ’25’ & ‘HHF’ light-up letters; they looked amazing in our oak-beamed barn!

There was plenty of love, laughter and reminiscing throughout the whole afternoon and it is safe to say our past couples were blown away. We have also raised an incredible £3,000 split between our two chosen charities from the event.
